He holds a degree in architecture and urban planning from the CEUSan Pablo Polytechnic University. He founded the Art Battalion Madrid group in 2016.
His work explores the dualism between the human and natural realms. The artist manipulates new realities that conceive of nature and urban architecture as a single entity, although he emphasizes their polarity by interweaving (sometimes literally layering) dissociated representations and visual languages. Through his unique expressiveness, he manifests a concern regarding the relationship between metropolitan society, the natural environment, and the active role that humankind plays in the encounter between the two.
Using a vibrant and energetic color palette, Borobio aims to awaken unusual moods in the viewer, transporting us to hypothetical places far removed from the everyday, always inviting reflection. In this way, he critiques the accelerated rhythms of growth and development that govern our reality, offering alternatives in the form of fictional places, different ways of inhabiting the world. His artistic practice has focused on painting and installation.
He has exhibited in galleries in Madrid, Mexico City, and Rome, and has participated in art fairs such as Estampa in Madrid, ArteSantander, PINTA in Miami, and Salón Acme in Mexico City. Borobio’s work is included in numerous prestigious national and international collections, such as the Franco-Belmont Collection in Lima, the Entrecanales Collection in Madrid, and the Vaello Collection.
