María Rébora graduated in 2019 with the Bachelor of Restoration at the National School of Conservation, Restoration and Museography “Manuel del Castillo Negrete”, with a specialty in the restoration of modern and contemporary art, which has allowed me to understand artistic objects such as materialization of stories, meta-stories, and narratives that different actors use to perceive reality, modify it and face it.
As a restorer, María Rébora has worked in various institutions and sites, such as the MUAC (Museum of the University of Contemporary Art, UNAM), Las Pozas by Edward James, the sculpture garden (Xilitla), and the archaeological site of Palenque ( Chiapas), in addition, to give advice to artists in the creation and conservation of their works.
As a creator, she has experimented with different techniques such as photography, weaving, painting, collage, engraving, and ceramics. She is currently experimenting with printing and digital engraving techniques on rigid supports. This series has been exhibited in the group exhibitions “TRRRA: translations, transitions, transformations” in July 2020 with Galería Galería; and “This is not Russia” in December 2020 with USSR (A study on revolution), as well as in Another Fair, Madrid, in that same year.
